Here’s an easy way to make cute favors for a holiday party. These candy-filled cookie cutters also make charming, yet inexpensive, Christmas gifts.

You’ll need numerous holiday cookie cutters in a potpourri of shapes, candy melts in dissimilar flavors and colors (available from stores that carry candy making supplies) or baking chips in assorted flavors (peanut butter, milk-chocolate, mint, white chocolate, etc.), colored sprinkles, colored sugar, clear cello bags, gold twist ties or colored ribbon.

First, line a huge cookie sheet or jellyroll pan with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Set the cookie cutters (face down) onto the cookie sheet, a few inches apart.

Next, melt one flavor or color of candy melt (or baking chip) according to the directions on the package, then pour the melted candy into the cookie cutter. Fill the cutter to the top and use a knife or little spoon to make sure the melted candy is propagated evenly inside the cookie cutter. Immediately sprinkle a heap of colored sugar or candy sprinkles over the melted candy in the cookie cutter.

Repeat the process, using as some dissimilar colors and flavors of candy as you wish. When all the cookie cutters have been filled, put the cookie sheet in the refrigerator and leave it there until the candy in all of the cutters has hardened.

Remove each cutter from the cookie sheet. Scrape off any candy that might have stuck to the outside of the cutters. Package each candy-filled cutter in a clear cello bag (available at crafts stores). Close the top of each cello bag with a gold twist tie or a piece of colored ribbon.

Variations:

Instead of candy melts or baking chips, use your favored recipe for fudge or peppermint bark and pour the mixture into the cookie cutters and let it harden.

Use dissimilar cookie cutters for dissimilar holidays and events – heart-shaped cutters for Valentine’s Day, or bunny-shaped or egg-shaped cutters for Easter, for example.

I don’t recognise with regards to you, but I love chocolate fudge cake. One look at this scrumptious layer cake makes my mouth water. Chocolate lovers will scoop this up finelooking quick so make sure you grab a piece before it’s all gone.

2 cups sifted cake flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 squares unsweetened chocolate

2/3 cup water

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2/3 cup butter, softened

3 eggs

1/3 cup buttermilk

Chocolate fudge filling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.

Tear off a huge sheet of wax paper and set on kitchen counter. Using a sifter, sift the flour baking powder, baking soda onto the wax paper.

In a saucepan or double boiler, combine the chocolate, water and 1/4 cup of sugar; cook over low heat while stirring constantly. When chocolate is thick and smooth, transfer to another bowl. Chill chocolate in a pan of ice water; stir occasionally. Add vanilla to chocolate.

In a huge bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until nice and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Blend in the chilled chocolate.

Add in the sifted flour mixture, alternating with the buttermilk – beat batter exhaustively after each addition, until nice and smooth. Pour the cake batter into cake pans.

Bake for 35 minutes, or until center of cake springs back when pressed lightly. Cool on wire rack. When cake is cool, split each round in half and fill with the Chocolate Fudge Filling. Use same filling to frost the whole cake.

Chocolate Fudge Filling

6 squares semisweet chocolate

3 tablespoons butter

7 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar

In a little saucepan, add the chocolate squares and butter. Cook over low heat until melted.

In a bowl, add the melted chocolate, milk, vanilla and stir until well blended. Add in the confectioners’ sugar and mix until filling is smooth and without apparent effort spreadable.

This recipe is a great substitute to a layer cake. This chocolate fudge cake is ready for picnics, potlucks and parties. Better save this recipe because you’ll be asked to make it again and again.

3 heaping tablespoons cocoa

2 eggs

1 teaspoon soda

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Using a sifter, sift the flour into a bowl. Add in the sugar and salt. Resift a second time into the bowl.

In a saucepan, mix together the butter, water and cocoa; fetch to a boil. Add warm chocolate mixture to the flour and stir thoroughly.

In a discerned bowl, mix together the eggs, baking soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Add to chocolate batter and mix exclusively until batter is smooth. Pour into cake pan.

Bake for 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Frost cake with Chocolate Fudge Frosting.

Chocolate Fudge Frosting

1 stick butter

6 to 8 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons cocoa

1 box confectioners’ sugar

1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla

In a saucepan, cook the butter, cocoa and milk over low heat (do not boil). Remove pan from heat and stir in the sugar, nuts and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer until frosting is smooth.

Pour warm frosting over cake and disseminate with a knife.

Way too pricey!!!

I bought this lemon pack because I couldn’t find it anywhere locally. My local super market now offer it for $2.99 per pack vs the $9.99 offer by this seller. The value is not there for 18 pieces of the crackers.

I was once described as a “tough (chocolate chip) cookie”. The sarcasm regarding that is I don’t specially care for chocolate chip cookies. In fact my favorites are peanut butter, oatmeal & lemon cookies.

You see at times women listen the word tough & they without delay think it will diminish their femininity. When in fact it’s the finish opposite. When you are tough, you are 100% unequivocally standing in your effeminate power.

Speak your mind.

I see so a great deal of women who are affrighted to stand up for themselves. Yes “Worrying About What Other People Think Syndrome” is on the rise. We have been taught to be strong and get over our fear of asking for what we want. It’s time to put it to good use.

I think it’s essential to be outspoken & invent your communication accomplishments so you are taken badly & still get the results you want.

If “smart cookie” or a “tough cookie” is resonating with you. Congratulations! You are brave and prospects are go through difficultnesses in your life easily, you may stand up for yourself, and you are not a pushover.

If you’ve never been called a “tough cookie” it might be time to align with the characteristics of one so you may be more secure with who you are, invent your own identity & refuse to be treated like a subordinate.

“Tough cookies” have expended years formulating a strong character; they don’t complain and work diligently to win a victory over obstacles. It doesn’t have to take you years but if you commit you’ll find yourself reaping the gains of your new characteristics a lot sooner.

If you are keeping back right now, playing small, being soft or taking baby steps. Make your move BEFORE you are ready. Make the decision to be the woman who is determined to do what they want and recognise that you will succeed even in difficult situations. Life will be a lot sweeter!

Easy – Fast – Painless – Works for me!

This is the second time I have used this ‘Smart For Life’ diet. I went on it about a year and a half ago. I lost almost 50lbs in 3 months. Since then I have slipped and gained back 15. I’m on it again and this time it will be for only a month or so.

I have read a lot of negative reviews about this diet, most of them from people who were unsuccessful and tried to modify the course.

READ THE DIRECTIONS!

It is very simple: One cookie and one 16oz bottle of water every 2 hours. I nibble on the cookie and sip the water. I try and take as long as possible with eating. My schedule is 8am, 10, 12, 2, 4, and a light dinner at 6. the last cookie at 8pm if needed. For dinner I usually have chicken breast and vegetables. Or canned soup with frozen vegetables added. I drink a lot of crystal light too. Be careful with sweets including no calorie sweet things. The sweets stimulate your hunger.

READ THE DIRECTIONS. You will lose your hunger after the first day or so. Count your Carbohydrates. You want to stay under 100 grams a day. Six cookies at 105 calories each and a 300 to 400 calorie meal equals 900 to 1,000 calories a day. There is no way you will not lose weight unless you cheat.

I like the Oatmeal cookie. The chocolate chip were too sweet for me and the blueberry tasted too artificial. I wrap them in a paper towel and microwave for 10 seconds. I originally bought the big kit which had soup and shakes. I still have the soup and shakes. Uck!

I also take vitamins twice a day and some fiber tablets. You will lose a lot of bulk and may become constipated.

Take a little walk every day, I walk out from my house for ten minutes and then turn around and walk back.

My blood pressure dropped 15 points, my glucose went down under 100. I weigh myself first thing in the morning and record it on a calendar. It is just amazing to watch the pounds fall off.

Great meal replacement solution

Although these are geared for weightloss goals, I bought them as a meal replacement solution because I have irritable bowel syndrome and when I’m at work I need to be careful what I eat. In the past I’ve avoided eating during the day because I never know what is going to bring on stomach problems. These cookies are very easy on the stomach and because you eat one every two hours it keeps you from being hungry. I will admit the first bite I took I was really questioning whether I could eat these everyday. They do taste a little like cardboard if you eat them cold. They are pretty bland. If you heat them in the microwave for ten seconds somehow it magically makes them tastier. What I love about these cookies are they are healthy (all organic), keep me from being hungry all day, and are so easy and portable. I eat them for breakfast, lunch, and snacks and it’s nice that each day’s worth of cookies comes in a sealed package so you can grab it on your way out the door. I’m on my 2nd order of these cookies (2 weeks’ worth per order) and I’m really happy with them and have come to enjoy the flavor. I am not using these as a weightloss tool, although I do believe if you are used to eating unhealthy food and switch to this you will lose weight because of the calorie restriction (each cookie is 105 calories and you eat six per day). I would recommend these and hope Amazon continues to sell them.

Love the chocolate chip ones

I need to lose about 30 pounds and my problem is that I don’t eat very much. I have a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I never eat breakfast, a small lunch and a reasonable dinner that sometimes includes fattening foods but not everyday.

After reading online about dieting, I read that your body can go into starvation mode and hold on to fat if you do not eat enough. My problem is I am just not hungry in the morning. For anything. So I decided that I would buy these cookies and force myself to eat one every two hours as instructed and coupled with a weight loss program (I bought a treadmill and reviewed it on Amazon) would get my butt in gear, literally.

After two weeks of eating these cookies and having a Lean Cuisine or similar type dinner, and other than my one morning cup of coffee every day, drinking only water, I lost about 11 pounds. I was pleased but wondered if I would become dependent on these cookies and have to buy them forever. I’m sure the company would love that but my wallet would not. So I began substituting: a single granola bar instead of a cookie, an apple instead of another, a 100 calorie bag of microwave popcorn, a 100 calorie McDougall’s soup. I still eat a cookie or two every day but sometimes you’re not in the mood for something sweet and cake-like; you want real food. The soup is great for that, as is the popcorn.

I view these cookies simply as an addition to my changed eating habits and just another option for my every-few-hours-snack. There is a wide range of views regarding the taste of these cookies. I only have tried the choco chip ones and I think they are great. They are very cake-y and break a bit easy. If you have them stored in a warm kitchen, sometimes you have to pry the top cookie from the bottom one but it’s not so bad.

I rated this four stars because the first box I got from Amazon did not have the Program Guide that’s stated in the product page; it was just the packs of cookies. I got a replacement from Amazon and that one did not have the guidebook either. I think the booklet– while not totally necessary to have– really should be included. There is no downloadable one on the company’s website, which is a shame.
